With The RTFC Braille Keyboard, you can type Braille on
a normal keyboard with the keys A S D F and J K L ;
or a Braille keyboard connected to the PC. It is possible to enter computer
braille, grade 1, grade 2 and even intermediate levels of contracted Braille.
Thanks to the Braille back translation integrated in RTFC, the printed
text can be displayed directly while typing in Microsoft
Word and other suitable programs. A user-defined exception list allows
you to define your own contractions up to extensive text modules such as
a salutation or an e-mail signature.
Those who are blind from birth often learn to write first on a braille
typewriter. With appropriate practice, blind people can achieve a higher
typing speed in contracted Braille than with a normal keyboard. So it is
obvious to use the braille keyboard on the computer as well.
But it can also be advisable to use a Braille keyboard in other cases.
For example, whenever you write a text that contains braille examples.
Braille characters can be passed through unchanged with RTFC when converted
to Braille. Typing with a Braille keyboard is much easier than if you had
to know the appropriate characters on a PC keyboard by assigning character
codes to dot Patterns.
The braille keyboard is part of the RTFC braille converter or higher. It
can be used not only for word processing, but in almost all Windows
programs.
